ONE WEEK until A POISONOUS SILENCE!
Hey, friends.
I’m still figuring out what exactly I want for this space. I am LOVING boosting other authors (and please let me know if you’re interested in sharing your wisdom with readers!). I’ve been so busy scheduling other people’s words that I have barely had a chance to sit down and share my own. And now, with only one week(!!) until A POISONOUS SILENCE hits shelves, I figured I’d poke my head out of my shell and say, hi! I am so excited you’re here!

The last few months have flown by. I just came home from Malice Domestic, where I was honored as an Agatha Award Nominee for Best First Novel. It was incredible to meet so many people who have read (and loved! and voted for!) my work, and I left feeling so buoyed about my career and the incredible community of mystery lovers at Malice. And now I’m home, and incredibly, there’s only ONE WEEK until A Poisonous Silence hits shelves!
Launching a book is weird. It feels even weirded the second time, I think. I turned in pass pages for APS in September (or perhaps October?) and it’s been out of my hands since then. I’ve been dabbling in other, unrelated projects (and not getting much traction anywhere) while putting together a proposal for Book 3 (cross your fingers, folks).
It was a difficult book to write, but overall, I’m so proud of this book. Do I think I’ve grown as a writer? Yes! Do I think the mystery is stronger? Yes! The critical reception has been warm – a positive review from Kirkus, and incredibly: a starred review from Booklist!

But I’m also anxious – will this be the last time I ever get to do this?
So much is unknown. Nothing is promised. And if it’s the last time I get to do this, I’m glad it’s with a book I poured so many early mornings and late nights and countless tears into.
Housekeeping notes: Remember, you can order signed copies of A Deadly Endeavor and/or A Poisonous Silence from One More Page Books in Arlington, VA. And please spread the word about The Deadly Twenties Mysteries by leaving reviews on Goodreads, Storygraph, or wherever you buy your books!

I’m also giving away three signed hardcover sets of the Deadly Twenties Mysteries on Storygraph! Click here to enter! .
